MEDIA RELEASE:
Manchester Show, Best Country Music Show in the UK
Manchester
based Country Music stars Jeanne Jordan and BJ Thomas from Solid
Gold Country Legends and Dolly, The Show have secured the Best
Event award at a glittering award ceremony at Fort San Antone,
Great Birchwood Country Park in Warton on 19th
September.
The show was nominated in May alongside four other events and a
nail-biting two months followed, where the public voted for
their favourite event for the 2009 British Country Music Awards.
Solid Gold Country Legends
has been running for over seven years and it brings together the
perfect mix of old and new country hits from the classics of
Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette to
Garth Brooks and Shania Twain to name just a few.
Dolly, The Show
now on its third year of touring is a celebration of a legend,
Dolly Parton, an award winning singer, composer, musician,
actress and author. The show is packed full of the greatest
songs that made her the world icon she is today.
BJ Thomas comments ‘We are all thrilled that the audience who
come to see us believe in what we do and the accolade of Best
Event is humbling. We all live for Country Music and thanks to
all the support we are able to continue in touring our show.’
The British Country Music Awards & Hall Of Fame was set up by
British publication Cross Country, after they felt there was no
formal recognition of the talent, devotion, skill and belief in
the grassroots of British Country music.
The 2009 event was well attended with winners and supporters
turning out in force to celebrate to occasion.
The Best Event award was presented by Chris Jackson from
Americana International and was collected by Barry Gaskell, ex
Pedal Steel player from Solid Gold Country Legends and Helen
Thompson the shows Marketing and PR Manager. The team,
unfortunately, were unable to attend the ceremony as they were
away on tour.
